JOB DESCRIPTION:

As Head of the PMO, you will define and maintain project management standards within your team. This includes the development and distribution of best practices and the implementation and implementation of project processes, tools, and strategies. You will provide leadership, support, and understanding of the project, and serve as a source of project information and metrics. You will develop effective leadership, interaction, and communication skills. Winners of the election are expected to commit to this role for at least 18 months.

OBLIGATIONS:

  • Delivery and Leadership – Lead a PMO to support the project in delivering Business Case benefits and outcomes.
  • Business Case – Support the project manager in building a Business Case with input from experts if required.
  • Budget – Develop and agree on budgets for projects and/or programs and predict actual costs to them.
  • Resources – Manage the PMO team and support the Project Manager in identifying, hiring, developing, supplying and re-deploying resources throughout the project life process.
  • Stakeholder Management – Instruct the project team with appropriate tools and strategies for managing stakeholder relationships. Provide assurance to the project manager on the effectiveness of stakeholder management arrangements.
  • Risks and Problems – Establish project risk management procedures and standards. Provide assurance to the project manager on the effectiveness of Risk and Disaster Management arrangements.
  • Governance and Verification – Ensure proper management and plan external reviews e.g. Gateway review in appropriate areas in the life cycle of the project. Monitor the effectiveness of the controls and ensure that recommendations from external updates are acted upon.
